One photo in.
A pack of you out.

There's nothing to film, no prompt to write and no editing timeline. Here's what happens between your photo and your first GIF.

  1. Add one photo

Choose a selfie, or a photo of your own pet. Before your first upload, the app asks you to confirm that you're 18 or older and that the photo is your own.

  2. Choose a reaction

Browse the packs and tap a reaction, like Soap opera gasp or Judging you. Reactions are preset, so there's no prompt to get right.

  3. Send your GIF

The GIF arrives in My GIFs. Share it to a chat, save it to Photos or use it as an iMessage sticker.

Nine frames. One big moment.

Each GIF is nine frames, played on a loop at 170 milliseconds a frame. That's about a second and a half.

It starts calm, hits one big readable peak, and comes back to where it began so the loop closes. Short and simple on purpose, because a reaction has to land before your friends scroll past it.

An AI image model draws the nine frames from your photo. It's asked to keep the same face or animal, background and lighting throughout, with only the reaction moving. Results vary, and details can shift from frame to frame.

What makes a good photo.

One subject

Just you, or just your pet. Crop out anyone else, including people in the background.

A clear face

Face the camera, in good light, with nothing covering your eyes or mouth. For a pet, the same goes for the eyes and ears.

Room to move

Reactions use the head and hands. A head-and-shoulders photo with some space around you gives them room.

A background you like

It stays in every frame, so it's part of the joke. Plain and tidy works, and so does the sofa.

What happens to your photo.

It's sent to make the GIF

The photo screen tells you this up front and names OpenAI. Your photo goes to our server and to OpenAI. OpenAI runs a safety check on it, then its image model draws the frames.

We don't store it

Our server doesn't keep your photo or the generated frames. OpenAI handles what it receives under its own terms.

Your GIFs stay on your iPhone

Your GIFs, stickers and chosen photo are kept on your device until you delete them in Settings.

Some photos are refused

We refuse photos flagged as sexual by automated checks. We can't reliably detect a child's photo, so the 18+ and own-photo rules apply. Nothing is spent when a photo is refused.

What you can make, and how much.

One free GIF

A new device gets one. Use it on any Starter motion, or on Dramatic gasp in Pet Drama.

12 GIFs per pack

Each unlock covers all 12 reactions in a pack, plus 2 retries. You're only charged a generation when it succeeds.

Daily limits

Up to 3 GIFs at once and 40 a day per device. If the service hits its daily capacity it pauses until later, and nothing is spent.

Prices are set in the App Store and shown in the app before you buy.
